Walking My Way To Heaven

I was born in a small Appalachian mountain village in West Virginia at 10:00 p.m. on March 30, 1933. My life began with humble beginnings, but God has blessed me far beyond anything I could have ever imagined.

As a young boy, I often accompanied my mother as she shared the gospel with others. Watching her faithfully tell people about Jesus planted within me a deep desire to spend my life helping others come to know Him.

In 1949, I gave my life to Christ. Through His remarkable love for the world, I came to understand that He loved me—Dan. With simple faith and simple words, I invited Jesus Christ to become my Savior and Lord. That decision changed everything. It began a journey that has now lasted more than seventy-four years—a journey that will one day end when I arrive at my eternal home in Heaven.

Since my early adult years, God has graciously allowed me to serve Him in missions around the world. The stories, people, ministries, and experiences from those years are preserved throughout this website. Looking back, I am continually amazed at the opportunities God placed before me and the lives He allowed me to touch.

Before those ministry years, I spent my career in corporate America while raising a wonderful family with my beloved wife, Mary Nell Winters. Those were precious years filled with hard work, laughter, and many cherished memories.

Then my journey took an unexpected turn—a turn God had planned all along.

After thirty-nine wonderful years of marriage, Mary Nell went home to be with the Lord. Losing her was one of the most difficult seasons of my life. Yet even in the midst of sorrow, God remained faithful.

In August 1994, God brought an extraordinary woman into my life—Mary Boldrey. She gave me new reasons to smile, to dream, and to keep living life with joy. Together we have now shared more than thirty-one wonderful years of marriage. We continue to love, laugh, and live each day to the fullest, grateful for every blessing God has given us.

As you explore these pages, my prayer is that you will see far more than the story of one man’s life. I hope you will see the faithfulness of God in every chapter. From the mountains of West Virginia to the nations of the world, He has guided every step of my journey.

And now, as I continue walking my way home to Heaven, I can honestly say that God has been faithful every step of the way.
